Dare2Scale 2024 Western Balkans – Meet the Cohort
With growing demand and an influx of interest, the sixth edition of Dare2Scale is excited to launch an additional second cohort in the Western Balkans. This year’s group brings together six ambitious companies from diverse industries like Software & IT, Retail, Transportation, Media, and Entertainment, represented by nine passionate entrepreneurs ready to scale new heights.
The companies in this cohort are already making strides. Two-thirds have expanded beyond their home countries and are eyeing new markets like the Western Balkans, the US, Asia, and other promising regions. Over the next 6 to 18 months, they plan to substantially enhance their product and service offerings. One-third have secured external funding, with many more gearing up for future funding rounds to drive their growth. Common goals include securing financing, boosting sales and marketing, and expanding teams, all of which will be supported by insights from leading business experts in our program.
Meet the Companies
Aqtos —a SaaS platform designed to streamline digital transformation for small and medium-sized businesses. Founder Damjan Dano reflects, “I really believe that the overall journey running IWM Network has prepared me for the challenges ahead as I pivot towards developing Aqtos.com, especially in 2024—a very tough year for SaaS and startups.” His experience, spanning over 15 years and involving work with organizations from A1 Telekom to Wall Street-based investment banks, is a testament to the resilience and adaptability required in the tech industry.
Happy Productions has found a unique niche in supporting nonprofits by enhancing their social media presence through creative video production. Reflecting on their journey, they proudly shared: “We’ve grown our own nonprofit to over 4 million followers on social media and have helped other nonprofits achieve the same.” This growth is fueled by a newly expanded sales team that has already shown immense results.
Inellipse prides itself on its innovative spirit, stating: “Innovative software products are achievable only with exceptional talent and tenacity, essential for boldly addressing and overcoming challenges.” They’ve built a steady pipeline of skilled developers and have maintained growth over the years while delivering extraordinary products, particularly in telecommunications, media streaming, and green energy. Their participation in the Dare2Scale program aims to further accelerate this growth.
Paket, North Macedonia’s leading online grocer, has quickly become synonymous with convenience and quality. They shared, “Our journey has been marked by rapid growth, overcoming logistical challenges, and building strong relationships with both local producers and big brands.” They attribute their success to these experiences, which have positioned them as the top online grocer in their market.
Synapse Aviation is redefining the aviation industry with innovative software solutions that enhance flight safety and efficiency. Their flagship product, Airport Briefing, is revolutionizing pilot information delivery and has already been widely adopted. Reflecting on their journey, they say, “Our most significant achievement is the successful implementation and widespread adoption of Airport Briefing, revolutionizing pilot information delivery within 20+ clients.” They remain committed to staying at the forefront of aviation innovation.
Xessable has carved out a niche in software outsourcing by promoting long-term relationships and high-quality solutions through dedicated development teams. “Our focus has always been quality over quantity, and that principle has shaped our journey,” they share. “We’ve built a workplace where top professionals thrive, and our clients value the reliability and commitment we bring to every project, promoting trusted partnerships that lead to success.”
These companies, each with their unique story and achievements, are well-prepared for future success. As they join the Dare2Scale journey, they bring with them a spirit of innovation, resilience, and ambition, ready to explore new markets and opportunities while contributing to the vibrant entrepreneurial landscape of the Western Balkans.
This year’s edition of Dare2Scale in the Western Balkans will run from September to December 2024, with events taking place in-person, as well as online, in both Skopje and Pristina. This edition of Dare2Scale has mentorship provided by PwC North Macedonia, PwC Bulgaria, and PwC Albania & Kosovo, as well as Endeavor Bulgaria mentors. We are partnering with Gjirafa for the Western Balkan’s program, and they will support the cohort through their journey.
The Kick-Off event for Dare2Scale Western Balkans 2024 will take place in Skopje on 18 September bringing together the Western Balkans cohort, PwC mentors, and Endeavor Bulgaria network members. This is a great opportunity for the companies from our two cohorts – Bulgaria and the Western Balkans – to interact with each other, creating greater regional ties. During the opening event for the Bulgarian edition, tomorrow 11 September, four of the founders from the Western Balkans will come to Sofia to join the networking.
