Innovation Initiative: Unlocking Collaboration with Veolia and Sofia Municipality

The Innovation Initiative seeks to create collaboration opportunities for startups and scale-ups by connecting them with Veolia and Sofia Municipality. In partnership with Endeavor Bulgaria, the initiative focuses on identifying and implementing cutting-edge solutions in water, waste, energy, environmental conservation, and pollution management, as well as digital transformation in data & AI.

We are looking for companies from Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia with innovative solutions and the potential to collaborate on pilot projects with either Veolia or Sofia Municipality. Selected companies will have the opportunity to conduct pilot projects with the goal of long-term collaboration and full-scale deployment of their solutions.

By partnering with forward-thinking companies, Veolia in Bulgaria and Sofia Municipality aim to drive sustainability, enhance operational efficiency, and unlock new growth opportunities.

Who Should Apply?

Companies with a validated business model, which have a MVP or existing product sales.

All solutions must be market-ready and immediately deployable for collaboration with Veolia and Sofia Municipality.

Discovery sessions & Proof-of-concept

One-on-one meetings to explore collaboration opportunities, assess feasibility, and determine whether the proposed technology, product, or service aligns with the needs and operational requirements of Veolia or Sofia Municipality.

Finale

Selected companies will present their collaboration projects to executives from Veolia and Sofia Municipality. The winning companies will begin their collaboration and work with the partners to define the scope and next steps for implementation.

About Sofia Municipality

Sofia is the capital of Bulgaria and the largest political, administrative, cultural and educational centre in the country. Sofia Municipality is an administrative unit with a status of a region and divided into 24 districts, administered by local mayors. The main activities conducted by the Municipality include preservation of the environment, healthcare, social, educational and cultural activities for the citizens of Sofia. Sofia Municipality is the public authority responsible for waste management regulation and planning of its territory. Due to its role, the partner is the local authority responsible for the drawing up, implementation and management of waste collection and treatment strategies and policies.
